Bank of Khartoum becomes 1st Bank in Sudan to acquire full Visa license with Issuance, Merchant Acquiring and E-Commerce for Travel & Entertainment Merchants!
Khartoum, Sudan, 7th April 2020 – Bank of Khartoum announced today that it has obtained a license from global digital payments leader, Visa, that will enable the bank to issue Visa payment products in Sudan. Bank of Khartoum is the first bank to be given license of Issuing, Merchant Acquiring Business with special focus on enabling E-Commerce, Contact-less payments for the first time for the Sudanese market.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Kashif Naeem, Acting Group CEO of the bank said “This indeed is a landmark moment not only for Bank of Khartoum but for the whole nation as Visa is 1st US based financial product entering Sudan. In last 2 years, Visa and Bank of Khartoum have worked closely and made significant advancements in getting Sudan ready for the Visa. Extensive and comprehensive international Compliance requirements were met by Bank of Khartoum to come in a position to start the business”

Bank of Khartoum Announces launch of Visa payment products to its customers in Sudan
Bank of Khartoum (BOK) has announced that Visa digital payment products are now available to their customers in Sudan. The bank will be offering its customers a variety of products including:- BOK-Visa – Debit Cards
- BOK-Visa – Prepaid Card (Physical)
- BOK-Visa – Prepaid Card (Virtual)
Bank of Khartoum is offering a full suite of Visa debit and prepaid cards that will allow customers to choose a card type based on their needs. Visa Debit Cards are categorized as Gold, Platinum & Infinite based on the respective customer profile. Visa’s Prepaid physical cards can be used for both online and in-store shopping at all locations accepting Visa. The Visa prepaid virtual card is intended only for internet and online payments worldwide.
Bank of Khartoum will also provide and start Visa acquiring for both physical and online merchants to enable them to accept digital payments for their businesses.
Customers can visit designated BOK branches and request a Visa card. All details are available on Bank of Khartoum’s official website and social media.

Bank of Khartoum announces the launch of the first Visa Virtual Card for e-commerce in Sudan

Bank of Khartoum announced today the launch of the first Visa Virtual Card in Sudan. The Visa Virtual Card is enabled for E-Commerce and will offer the Bank’s customers the opportunity to conduct online and E-Commerce transactions safely and conveniently wherever they are.
This is the first Visa product to be launched by BOK and it shall be ensued by additional premium products shall unfold in the near future such as Visa Prepaid Cards, Debit Cards (Gold, Platinum & Infinite) and Corporate Cards. Bank of Khartoum will also work with merchants to provide point of sale (POS) acceptance devices and E-Commerce acceptance gateway.
BOK account holders can visit designated BOK branches to apply for their Virtual Cards. The Visa Virtual Card will also be integrated into the “Bankak” mobile app in future so that customers can use all products from a single interface.
