Mr. Fadi Al Faqih

Chief Executive Officer

Fadi is the Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Khartoum (BOK) with nearly 20 years of international and regional banking experience. Awarded as Islamic Banker of 2014 by the World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC).

Joined BOK in 2006 as Chief Operating Officer and in 2008 appointed as CEO spearheading BOK’s business development, restructuring and transformation to become the leading Islamic financial services group in the Sudan. Under his leadership, BOK has enhanced and developed its service offer full range of products and services for Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, SME, Microfinance, Treasury and Investment banking across multiple channels in Sudan.

BOK has lately pioneered the launch of Mobile Money service in Sudan that will potential increase financial inclusion and banking penetration significantly in the market. BOK has a USD 2 billion balance sheet and over 2012 employees across the Group. The Bank is the first institution in the Sudan to be delisted from OFAC in 2011 as well as being rated by the Islamic International Rating Agency with (AA-) long term credit rating with a short-term credit rating consistently. Moreover, BOK has been awarded as the best bank for Strategy. Prior to BOK he had held several senior banking positions in Citibank, Egyptian Arab Land Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ Grindlays Bank. Fadi holds a Global Executive MBA from TRIUM (LSE, NYU and HEC).

Mr. Faisal Fadl

Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Faisal Fadl is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Khartoum. He joined BOK in 2006 as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Deputy CEO in 2008.

Mr.Fadl has been responsible for the oversight of the implementation of the centralization of the Bank, the new core banking system and the merger with the Emirates Sudan Bank. He is also responsible for supervising all of the support functions of the bank and managing the remedial book. Prior to BOK, Mr.Fadl held senior positions with global and regional companies including Arab Petroleum Investment Corporation, Norwich Union Insurance and the Sudanese Insurance and Re-Insurance Company. Mr. Fadl holds a BSc in Commerce and Accounting from Cairo University, Khartoum Branch, Sudan, CIP, Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK, CPA from the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants, USA, and CFA Level 1 from the Association for Investment Management and Research, USA. He is a member of the Sudanese Council of Chartered Certified Accountants

Mr. Yacoub Mohamed Zafer Al-Alem

Head of Corporate Banking

Mr. Al-Alem joined BOK in 2008 to oversee the growth of the corporate banking group. He is responsible for overseeing all business relating to corporate banking which includes finance, liabilities and products. In the past five years, BOK’s corporate bank has become the market leader and the partner of choice for many local, international and regional organizations operating in the Sudan. Under Mr. Al-Alam’s leadership BOK’s corporate bank’s asset base has increased 4X to USD640 million, it has tripled its customer base and it is ranked number one by market share and penetration in the Sudanese banking market. Prior to joining BOK, Mr. Al-Alem held senior positions in Arab Bank and BLOM Bank.

He holds a Masters in Financial and Banking Studies from the Arab Institute for Banking and Financial Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Administrative studies from Jordan University. Mr. Al-Alem is a member of the Bank’s AML and HR committees.

Mr. Kashif Naeem

EVP & Group Head – Retail, SME & Microfinance

Mr. Naeem was hired by Dubai Islamic Bank UAE in 2006 and assigned to Bank of Khartoum as part of the transformation team to bring true retail banking to Sudan. He is responsible for BOK’s market leadership as the first bank in the Sudan to establish a full suite of innovative products and services in Retail, Private Banking, SME and Microfinance.

Kashif is a seasoned and result oriented professional with strong leadership and managerial skills. Since joining, BOK has grown 175% and his portfolio manages a book size of over SDG 3.9 billion plus in deposits, SDG 1 billion plus in Asset Financing and SDG 250 million in Microfinance. Mr. Naeem has over overall professional experience of 22 years and worked in countries like Pakistan, UAE and Sudan. He spent last 17 years in banking industry and worked with international and regional banks that include Citibank UAE & Pakistan, Dubai Islamic Bank UAE, Societe Generale Bank, Union Bank Pakistan (now Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan). Prior to banking he worked for five years with the first mobile company in Pakistan- PAKCOM / Instaphone.

He holds a BBA degree from Pakistan and apart from being a Board Member of subsidiaries owned by Bank of Khartoum, he is also member of Bank’s Management Committee, ALCO, Credit Risk Committee, Executive Committee, Audit , Risk & Compliance Committee and member of HRC. Kashif’s overall experience in banking covers Retail Banking, SME, Microfinance, Islamic Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Operations, Products & Services, e-banking solutions, Sales, Service & Quality etc..

Mr. Khaled Mahmoud Zadeh

Head of Treasury and Foreign Relations

Mr. Zadeh joined BOK in 2007 and has been responsible for developing and enhancing BOK’s services in Treasury and Investment Banking. He is also responsible for the growth and expansion of BOK’s correspondent banking partners and also oversees BOK subsidiaries Sanabel Securities and Sudacash.

Since joining BOK, Mr. Zadeh has introduced key innovations at BOK that have led the banking sector in a new direction. He has been responsible for the oversight of developing the interbank money market master agreements that are now standardized and utilized by the banking industry in Sudan. He was also responsible for structuring and issuing the first of its kind, Ijara Investment Fund, an Islamic Sukuk based on a sale Lease Back Concept and the Furat Investment Fund based on Muqawala and Deferred Sales. Under his leadership, BOK has doubled its coverage of correspondent banks and improved the terms and conditions as well as increased credit limits. Mr. Zadeh has over 15 years of experience in banking and finance and has worked with financial services organizations in Jordan which include The Egyptian Arab Land Bank and The Housing Bank for Trade and Finance.

He has a MBA in Financial Management from the University Of Exeter, UK, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major and Economics Minor from the University of Jordan, Certified Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, USA, Certified Risk Analysis (CRA), Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA), USA. He is a certified trainer at the Institute of Banking Studies in Jordan and the Arab Academy for Banking Studies in Jordan on banking issues such as Anti Money Laundering, Compliance, Fraud, Risk and Investment.

Mr. Odai Ahmad Naser Hindawi

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hindawi is the Chief Financial Officer of Bank of Khartoum (BOK) with nearly 14 years of banking experience. Odai Holds a Master Degree in Banking and Finance from Talal Abu Ghazaleh College (German-Jordanian University) and a B.A in accounting From Philadelphia University. Above that he is a Certified Islamic Specialist in Accounting, and a certified excellence Assessor from European foundation for quality management.

Prior to Joining BOK in 2015, Mr. Hindawi has worked in Jordan Kuwait Bank, Audi Bank (Jordan Branches) and in last was at Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank.

Mr. Fuad Al Bahu

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Al Bahu is the Chief Operating Officer of BOK responsible for the Administration and operations. He has been with BOK since 2007 and has driven the centralization of all of BOK’s back office functions, implementing the new Core Banking System (IMAL) and opening and renovating several of BOK’s branches and sub-branches. Prior to joining BOK, Mr Al Bahu worked in various operational positions in international banks which include Standard Chartered Bank, ANZ Grindlays Bank and Grindlays Bank. He holds a Diploma in Banking Studies, Institute of Banking Studies, Amman, Jordan.

Mr. Faisal Abdullateif Nassir

Chief Internal Audit

Mr. Abdullateif Nassir is the Head of Internal Audit responsible for ensuring BOK has a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of its risk management, internal control and corporate governance processes are in line with international best practices. He joined the bank in 2006 and has been responsible for turning the department into a proactive value added service of the bank to improve its operations and processes through establishing and maintaining the strategic IA function, enhancement of control environments and the promotion of risk management. Prior to joining BOK, Mr. Abdullateif Nasser held positions in risk management, finance and audit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Sudan with Al Rajhi Banking and Investment Corporation, Ink Production Company, Al-Rashed Certified Public Accountants, Al Suban Certified Public Accountants and Gabir, Alabe & Co. Certified Public Accounts . He has a BSC of Commerce in Accounting from Cairo University, Khartoum Branch, Sudan, CISA from ISACA, CPA, American Institute for Certified Public Accountants, SOCPA, Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants. He is professional certifications and memberships also include CPA License from Certified Public Accountants, Montana State Board of Accountancy, USA, Member of SCAA (Sudan Council of Chartered Accountants), and Risk Based Audit Course, Institute for International Research. Mr. Abullateif Nassir is also an instructor for CPA, CMA, CIA and CGAP as well as short courses in Accounting, Auditing, Internal Controls and Risk Management in Sudan.

Ms. Nadia Youhanna

Head of Human Resources

Ms. Youhanna is the Head of the Human Resources Department at the Bank of Khartoum with over 33 years of international HR experience helping companies achieve their targets and manage their human capital in a systemized and reliable way.

She joined BOK in 2006 as part of the transformation team, and has been responsible for managing over 1600 people, across 83 branches and five subsidiary companies. Under her leadership, BOK has introduced a full range of HR services which include compensation, recruitment, manpower planning, staff development, salary surveys, job classifications, automation of the HR department functions, development of policies, systems, structures welfare plans, medical coverage and Union liaison. Ms Youhanna also developed a fast track program within the bank for new graduates, which includes intensive training and preparing them to be ready for promotions. She also established the Takaful funds to assist employees of BOK and their families. Prior to joining BOK, Ms Youhanna worked for international organizations which include UNDP, CARE International, Elie Group Holdings Co. Ltd, United Nations Children’s Fund, and Citibank.

She has a Master degree in process on Human Resources Management & Development from Rushmore University, South Dakota, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management and Development from Ashwood University Florida, USA and a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Institute for Banking Studies, Khartoum, Sudan.

Mr. Ammar Abbass Elsayed Osman

Head of Compliance

Mr. Ammar Abbass Elsayed comes from a regulatory background as he served at the Central Bank Of Sudan (CBOS) in different regulatory and supervisory positions including the Governor’s Office for 13 years. He joined BOK in 2013 as Head of Legal & Compliance department responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance program within the bank through evaluating and controlling the Compliance risk management of the bank.

Mr. Ammar also is taking the role of Chief Governance Officer to enhance and improve the corporate Governance function within the bank and serves as a Reporter to the Board Corporate Governance Committee, he is also responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of the FATCA policy within the bank and being a responsible officer (RO) to American IRS regarding the bank compliance with FATCA.

Mr. Ammar is Co-founder & member for the Sudanese Compliance & risk officers committee within the Sudanese banking union. Played a significant role in Project management of BOK’s expansion in GCC area and succeeded in acquiring a license for the bank to establish an Islamic branch in Bahrain.

Mr. Ammar has Master of business administration – Morgan State University, Maryland- USA 2010, Certified Compliance Officer – Denver University of America 2014, M.A in accounting and finance – Islamic Finance, and (complementary research under award) – Sudan University for Science and Technology.
