Mr. Mohammed Qadeer Abdullah is a seasoned Risk management professional who brings over 26 years of industry experience in managing all types of risks in the financial institution. In his role, he is responsible for the management and supervision of Enterprise risks including running risk programs and embedding risk culture to monitor and control risk streams. The objective is to drive for operational efficiency by establishing core metrics that maximizes the performance while optimizing the capital utilization.
Mohammed has worked with leading banks in the Middle East such as Riyad Bank, EmiratesNBD and Noor Bank prior to joining the Bank of Khartoum. In his last stint at Noor Bank, he has established Risk management function and delivered major projects for the bank including the achievement of “Best Risk Analytics implementation in GCC” from Asian Banker. He was also responsible for the management of credit rating for the institution which had their rating upgrade in the shortest period. He has a diversified experience right from building the policies, establishing the enterprise governance framework, enhancing the risk culture, model building across all types of material risks which will eventually lead to the RORAC implementation with an objective to maximize return for the institution. He has also served some leading companies such as Tata Communications and Klen & Marshalls in India before moving to GCC.
Mohammed holds a first-class Master degree in Commerce and MBA in Finance from leading universities in India. He is also a certified Inter Cost Accountant from ICMAI, CFA Charter holder from CFA Institute and FRM Charter holder from GARP, USA.
