The Premium (Foreign) Account is an elite banking solution intended for high-net-worth individuals (HNWs) who desire easy, flexible banking services and exceptional benefits.

You will also enjoy various extra services and benefits specifically designed to match your lifestyle and advanced financial needs.

Key Features

  • Foreign Currency Account for all Sudanese and non-Sudanese individuals.
  • Existing Visa cards can be funded via the Premium Account through branches or the Bankak application.
  • The Premium Account does not contain any type of cheque books.
  • Does not accept cheque deposits from ECC or Seraj.

Deposits into the Premium Account are ONLY accepted through the following funding sources:

  • Cash deposits.
  • International transfers / Remittances.
  • Salary transfers (using the 16-digit reference number for the Premium Account).
  • Transfers from a Premium Account or Staff Account through branches or the Bankak application.

Available Services on BANKAK for Foreign Currencies for Bank of Khartoum Customers:

Currency Conversion Service (from foreign currencies to SDG "One-way transaction") via the customer's Premium Account to the customer's own SDG Account.

Transfer Service:

Permitted Transfers:

  • From a Sudanese customer to another Sudanese customer.
  • From a non-Sudanese customer to another non-Sudanese customer.

Non-Permitted Transfers:

  • From a Sudanese customer to a non-Sudanese customer.
  • From a non-Sudanese customer to a Sudanese customer.

Required Information for Account Opening

The AOF shall contain at least the following minimum information in addition to the information required by CBOS regulations:

  • Name of the account holder
  • Occupation
  • Authorized signatures
  • Contact number and mailing address
  • Type of account
  • Customer ID

A Statement of Account (system-generated) will be dispatched to all account holders at frequencies requested by them on the AOF. In the absence of the customer's instructions, the statement will be generated at least once every three months and sent to customers free of charge.

Stamp duty under the Stamp Duty Act for the dispatch of account statements shall be deducted directly from the customer's account, in line with the terms and conditions mentioned in the Account Opening Form.

Standing Instructions Form

The customer may issue standing instructions to the Bank using the Standing Instructions Form. Standing instructions may include the payment of utility bills, payment of children's school fees, etc.

Account Deposits

The FCY "Premium" account shall accept the following sources of funds ONLY for depositing:

  • Cash deposit
  • Transfers from abroad
  • Transfers from Special Accounts (NGOs, embassies, local contractors), e.g., salary transfers
  • Transfers from other Premium FCY Accounts
  • Transfers from STAFF FCY Accounts
Account Withdrawals

Customers may withdraw from their FCY "Premium" account at any nearby branch during working hours and days, under BOK policy. This is contingent on the fact that the FCY "Premium" account is an account with "active" sources of funds only.

Account Transfer

Customers may transfer funds from their FCY "Premium" account to another customer's FCY "Premium" account at any nearby branch during working hours and days, per BOK policy. This is also contingent on the fact that the FCY "Premium" account is an account with "active" sources of funds only.

  • For BANKAK, the Premium FCY Account will transfer funds as follows:
  • Premium FCY account to Premium FCY account – same currency
  • Premium FCY account to STAFF FCY account – same currency
  • STAFF FCY account to Premium FCY account – same currency
  • Premium FCY account to VISA account – same currency
  • STAFF FCY account to VISA account – same currency
