As a generous initiative from its Board of Directors and Executive Management, Bank of Khartoum has extended support to injured officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers of the Sudanese Armed Forces, joint forces, special security units, and volunteers who sacrificed themselves for the homeland and remained stationed in various locations to protect the country from the brutal rebel forces.
The bank visited the wounded at hospitals and their places of residence to check on their well-being and provided financial assistance to 400 injured individuals currently receiving treatment. This reflects the bank’s deep appreciation for their great role in protecting the sovereignty and dignity of Sudan.
In addition, the bank opened accounts for members of the armed forces and simplified the related procedures, so they can benefit from the bank’s digital services even during the current circumstances.

Reaffirming its leadership in social responsibility, the Bank of Khartoum provided school notebooks to students in Gedaref State as part of the “Kulna” Project under its community service initiatives.
The bank’s Eastern Sector Manager, Mr. Mutasim Abdullah, met with the state’s governor, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, along with local officials and branch staff, to coordinate efforts. This initiative aims to directly benefit the community amidst the nation’s challenging circumstances.

As part of its ongoing social responsibility projects and its commitment to supporting and developing rural communities, the Bank of Khartoum successfully implemented the "Saqiya Al-Hassania Project" in River Nile State.
Funded by the Bank of Khartoum and carried out in collaboration with the Good Heart Organization, the project provided a well to supply water for the residents and their livestock, along with a water tank for storage. The project operates using a solar energy system, ensuring the electricity needed for its operation is sustainably generated.

As a pioneer in banking innovation and a leader in social initiatives, the Bank of Khartoum considers it a duty to take the lead in supporting these young talents, helping them flourish in knowledge and creativity for the benefit of the nation.
Here are highlights of the generous support provided by the Bank of Khartoum to the Young Developers Community, as part of its social responsibility programs and initiatives. These efforts aim to serve the community across various charitable endeavours and social and developmental fields, bringing direct benefits to the people of Sudan.
The Young Developers Community Team, representing Sudan, participated in the Robotics Challenge Egypt 2022, where they achieved third place out of 240 competing teams. The team also won five silver and bronze medals, two shields, and two trophies in programming, performance, and training categories, impressing judges and attendees with their outstanding performance.
The Young Developers Community Team has now qualified to represent Sudan in the Robotics Challenge China 2023, proudly serving as the nation’s official representative.

In collaboration with the Hazireen Charity Organization and Ahmed Gasim Hospital for Cardiology and Kidney Transplantation, the Bank of Khartoum signed a memorandum of understanding to support the project of furnishing the pediatric cardiac surgery department for newborns with congenital heart defects requiring urgent surgical intervention. The support includes providing medical equipment for the intensive care unit, as part of the bank's social responsibility programs and initiatives.

During the holy month of Ramadan, as part of its social responsibility projects, the Bank of Khartoum distributed Ramadan care packages to the Union of Cooperative Professional Associations for low-income individuals, represented by Ms. Awadiya Koko, the President of the Union.
The bank, along with several of its employees, also delivered Ramadan care packages to the Al-Sabbabi School for Intellectual Disabilities in Bahri.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Hazireen Initiative, the Bank of Khartoum provided Iftar meals at several isolation centres in Khartoum State throughout the month of Ramadan. These included Al-Nou Teaching Hospital, Ibrahim Malik Hospital, Omdurman Teaching Hospital, and the Academic Excellence Hospital.

As part of its ongoing efforts in the field of social responsibility, and in collaboration with Ahfad University for Women, the Bank of Khartoum signed an agreement for university scholarships. Under this agreement, the bank will support and cover tuition fees for outstanding female students from low-income families through its social responsibility initiatives.
This effort aligns with the bank's commitment to supporting and empowering women's education, creating better opportunities for female leadership, and paving the way for a brighter future for Sudanese women on both professional and personal levels for generations to come.
The signing ceremony was attended by esteemed members of the university's board, led by Professor Gassim Badri, the university's director, alongside Dr. Mostafa Abdullah Al-Hassan, the CEO of Bank of Khartoum, and the Director of Corporate Communications.
Bank of Khartoum takes pride in this positive collaboration between the two institutions, which aims to create better opportunities for all future leaders, contributing to a more successful and prosperous future for the country.

Bank of Khartoum continued its community initiative in the Al-Nuhud locality, launching a campaign to improve environmental health and combat diseases. The campaign included the distribution of mosquito nets and spraying operations in areas most affected by stagnant water.
The Commissioner of Al-Nuhud Locality praised the efforts of the Bank of Khartoum and its contributions to environmental health improvement, urging other economic institutions to take similar actions. He emphasized the bank's significant economic and banking contributions to the country, alongside its role in enhancing environmental conditions.
Bank employees actively participated in the environmental health campaigns and efforts to mitigate the impact of the rainy season in the locality. This involved organizing pesticide spraying campaigns in collaboration with the local authorities and coordinating with medical teams. These initiatives reflect the bank’s commitment to fostering community cooperation and strengthening its role in social responsibility through pioneering projects aimed at serving and developing the community.

As part of its Mosquito Net Distribution Project, the Bank of Khartoum has launched an initiative to combat the negative effects of mosquito proliferation and the diseases it spreads. The bank, through its branches in the North Kordofan region, organized a mosquito net distribution campaign at the Khalawi Al-Sharif Al-Naji.
The event was attended by Mr. Mohamed Bakhit, Director of North Kordofan Branches, Mr. Sheikh Idris Abdel Qader, Director of the El-Obeid Branch, and prominent figures from the community. They praised the campaign for its vital role in promoting public health and commended the Bank of Khartoum for its sense of responsibility toward society.
In addition to the distribution, the bank donated a water reservoir to the Khalawi as a tangible contribution. The Khalawi serves a large number of students and Quran memorization scholars, highlighting the bank's noble gesture toward educational institutions. This initiative is part of the Bank of Khartoum's ongoing corporate social responsibility programs in Sudan.

The Karry Locality in Khartoum State witnessed the launch of the Bank of Khartoum's Mosquito Net Distribution Project to combat mosquito-borne diseases. The event took place at the Al-Shatee Neighborhood Health Center and was attended by the locality’s Executive Director, Mr Sheikh Al-Daw, who expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the bank's contributions to social responsibility, benefiting a significant number of the locality's residents.
The Director of Environmental Health in the locality, Mr Mohamed Hassan, praised the initiative, commending the positive community response to the project.
Mr. Khalid Mohamed Zain, Director of Marketing and Products at Bank of Khartoum, emphasized the senior management's commitment to enhancing efforts in social responsibility. He highlighted that the bank operates on multiple fronts in this domain, in addition to the banking services provided through its four branches in the locality. This reflects the bank's belief in integrating financial and charitable efforts to serve its customers across Sudan. InshaAllah.

Within its
corporate social responsibility programs and in collaboration with the Youth
Rescue Organization, the Bank of Khartoum sponsored the second charity marathon
organized by the organization under the slogan "Let's Run Together Against
Diabetes." This marathon coincided with World Diabetes Day and aimed to
raise awareness about diabetes, its risks, management, treatment, and
prevention methods. The event also included a health lecture on diabetes and a
speech by the Minister of Youth and Sports, who thanked the bank for its noble
work. The Youth Rescue Organization operates in several social, relief, and
cultural fields, such as providing meals for the needy, healthcare services,
environmental sanitation, and other activities in several states of Sudan. The
bank's sponsorship of the marathon stems from its belief in the importance of
raising awareness about diabetes and the significance of such activities in
promoting a culture of cooperation, teamwork, and volunteerism within the
community. This, in turn, leads to a supportive and healthy community work
environment, which aligns with the social responsibility projects, programs,
and activities adopted by the Bank of Khartoum.
In an
elegant ceremony held at the Corinthia Hotel, as part of the Second Global
Scientific Conference of the Sudanese Heart Association hosted in Khartoum, the
Sudanese Heart Association honoured the Bank of Khartoum in recognition of its
positive contributions to supporting and ensuring the success of the
association’s activities during 2017.
These
contributions included sponsoring heart surgeries for children, enabling the
association's participation in regional and international medical conferences,
and supporting the success of the joint conference with the African Heart
Association and the Interventional Cardiology Society. The bank also aided the
association's participation in the World Heart Federation Summit.
The Sudanese
Heart Association is active in the field of heart disease treatment and surgery
and in developing medical protocols for the Federal Ministry of Health across
various health sectors. The bank's support for the Sudanese Heart Association
aligns with its corporate social responsibility programs, serving the community
in diverse areas critical to the well-being of the people of Sudan.
Bank of Khartoum's sponsorship of the 15th edition of the Al-Tayeb Salih Award for Literary Creativity, held at the Abdul Karim Mirghani Center, is part of its corporate social responsibility programs. This sponsorship reflects our commitment to supporting literature and the arts within the community, as well as the accompanying activities.

In an elegant ceremony, Omdurman Ahlia University, represented by its Director, Professor Karar Ahmed Bashir Al-Abadi, honoured the Bank of Khartoum, represented by the Group CEO, Mr. Fadi Al-Faqih. The recognition was a heartfelt gesture of gratitude for the bank's positive contributions and significant support to the university.
The occasion marked the inauguration of a new four-story building financed entirely by the Bank of Khartoum as part of its social responsibility initiatives in Sudan. The building includes several offices, lecture halls, and laboratories, in addition to a branch of the bank serving the local community.
The event was attended by Mr Fadi Al-Faqih, Group CEO of Bank of Khartoum, Mr Kashif Naeem, Head of Retail Banking, Mr. Ayman Al-Shalqani, Head of Branch Operations, Mr Jamal Abdulmunim, Head of Administrative Affairs, Mr Khalid Mohamed Zain, Head of Marketing and Products, as well as a distinguished gathering of the bank’s employees, university professors, and deans of faculties.
The university's director praised the
bank's pioneering role in supporting education and its invaluable contributions
to the university's growth, expressing hopes for further collaboration between
the university and the bank to advance the cause of education and knowledge in
Sudan.

As part of
its commitment to supporting the country's academic sector, the Bank of
Khartoum honoured outstanding students from the Sudan Academy for Banking and
Financial Sciences. This initiative is part of the bank's corporate social
responsibility programs, reflecting its consistent engagement in the academy's
annual scientific and cultural activities. The bank firmly believes in its duty
to foster and support the advancement of knowledge and education across Sudan.
To fulfil its commitment to the Children's
Heart Hospital, the Bank of Khartoum has sponsored eleven free heart surgeries
for children. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Sadagat
Charity Association and Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, Canada. The
bank officially handed over the contribution for the heart surgeries at the
hospital in the presence of Mr. Khalid Mohamed Zain, Marketing Director, Major
General Dr. Nizar Bashir Al-Hassan, along with several bank employees and doctors.
This reflects the bank's dedication to its social responsibility through
programs and projects that provide support and care, contributing to the
development of Sudanese society.
